New Development!! Post videos and send group messages on Twitter
You can begin shooting and post 30-second video clips to Twitter from the iOS and Android apps. Moreso, direct messages are expanding to let you message groups of up to 20 people, creating a place for more private conversations on Twitter (and doing grave damage to the time-honored practice of subtweeting in the process.)
The changes, which will roll out over the next several days, both address significant competitive needs for Twitter. Letting users post videos helps to level the playing field with Facebook, which is dramatically increasing the amount of video in the News Feed.

Facebook and Instagram service disruption; a result of Internal change, not hackers
Facebook and Instagram were both taken offline this yesternight, according to the Verge, Facebook spokesperson said that this was "not the result of a third party attack but instead occurred after we introduced a change that affected our configuration systems. Facebook's spokesperson added that the site's engineers "moved quickly to fix the problem, and both services are back to 100% for everyone."

Wonderful comments!! President Jonathan said his generation has failed!!! Fashola asks Jonathan to account for himself
The Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babatunde Fashola, on Tuesday said President Goodluck Jonathan’s comment that his generation had failed Nigerians was personal to him.
He made his point clear at a town hall meeting organised by the State Ministry of Transportation which had transport unions, including the National Union of Road Transport Workers’ in attendance while he told the president to summon courage and own up to his government's failure for the past six years rather than point accusing fingers to past leaders.
At the same time, Fashola refused to be part of the failed generation the president mentioned during his last campaign in Lagos. This is what he said; “He is in his 50s, I am also in my 50s. But I don’t want to join that generation because my own generation has not failed; I have done well on my job and I am proud to say so. If he has failed, let him account for himself, he should not include us.”
He said, “Instead of telling you how he plans to secure the nation, our president was telling you they tried to kill him four years ago and we did not know. That is a serious national security issue because nobody wants our Commander-in-Chief dead. If anybody tries to kill him, we should have known. And if I was Commander-in-Chief, and the person who tries to kill me is in a South African jail, I will ask that he should be repatriated to Nigeria to face punishment.”
Fashola accused President Jonathan of looking for sympathy to woo voters ahead of the presidential election.

North Korea asks U.S.; Show evidence we hacked Sony
A North Korea's deputy U.N. ambassador An Myong Hun, on Tuesday emphatically denied his country's involvement in the massive computer hack at Sony;
This is what he said "My country has nothing to do with the Sony hacking, it is out of sense to do that, and we want United States to provide evidence.
Meanwhile, United States hit North Korea with new sanctions this month after the FBI director has expressed his very high confidence that North Korea was behind the hacking.
At a briefing on the subject, Rep. Ed Royce, a California Republican and chairman of the House Foreign Relations Committee, called to "cut off hard currency" so North Korea cannot carry out offensive attacks like the cyber attacks.
The White House targeted leaders in North Korea's government, preventing them from accessing property and entering the United States.
The U.S. Department of Treasury has designated the Reconnaissance General Bureau, the Korea Mining Development Trading Corporation and Korean Tangun Trading Corporation and 10 officials based around the world as "critical North Korean operatives." The aim of the sanctions is to isolate North Korea and cut off their entities from being able to use the international financial system, said Daniel Glaser, assistant secretary of the Department of Treasury, during a briefing about the hacking on Tuesday.

Obama to push for cheaper, faster broadband in the US
President Obama yesterday stated an upcoming executive action to increase US broadband speeds and reduce its cost, something he intends to announce at a speech tomorrow in Cedar Falls, Iowa, and again in his sixth State of the Union address next week.
The White House said that it plans to file a letter with the Federal Communications Commission to end restrictions in 19 states that it believes are holding back broadband advances. It also plans to push a grants and loans program for rural carriers to supply subsidized broadband, as well as form a "Broadband Opportunity Council" whose job it will be to "promote greater coordination" among various government organizations.
Obama mentioned Cedar Falls as a prime example of the inequality of broadband service among US cities when compared to international counterparts. He confirmed that download speeds in cities like Hong Kong, Paris,Tokyo and Seoul are much greater than that of Los Angeles, Washington DC, San Francisco and New York.
The President wants the federal government to do more to safeguard data, both from attackers and advertisers. He's also expected to weigh in once again on changes to net neutrality, which the FCC is voting on next month.

This is serious!!! Lizard Squad takes down Xbox Live and PlayStation Network
Many obervers have been asking questions on the heels of the DDoS attacks that brought down XBox Live and the PlayStation network on Christmas Day.
Today, Brian Krebs drawn an unconventional answer" "Routers". Krebs looked into Lizard squad and found mucj of the group's DDoS capabilities came from home routers that had been compromised remotely.
Using a recently discovered malware variant, Lizard Squad was able to turn common household routers into so-called "stresser" tools, which flooded the networks with bogus traffic, ultimately making them unavailable for legitimate gamers.Routers are a notoriously easy target for malware attacks, thanks to a slow-to-nonexistent patch schedule and general neglect.
A number of Lizard Squad members have already been arrested, but many of the vulnerabilities they exploited have yet to be addressed. Until they are, it will be easy for groups like Lizard Squad to mount cheap and destructive DDoS attacks, and hard for networks to defend themselves.
