APPLE: iPhones success story Vs iPads

Information gathered from Apple Q4 2014 earnings revealed that its latest iPhones broke early sales records.

Apple sold 39.2 million phones, up big from the 33.8 million iPhones it sold during the same quarter last year which made it a huge quarter for iPhones with the first nine days of iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus sales.

My question; how would iPad fare 'cos Apple sold 12.3 million iPads down from the 13.1 million that were expected, and even more from 14.1 million the company sold during the same time last year.

Court Updates: Hijab in Lagos public schools Vs Lagos State Government

Two 12-year old girls under the aegis of the Muslim Students of Nigeria, Lagos State Area Unit filed a suit on 27th May, 2013 seeking redress and asking the court to declare the ban as violation of their rights to freedom of thought, religion and education.

Justice Modupe Onyeabor dismissed the suit instituted by helding that the prohibition of the wearing of Hijab over school uniforms within and outside the premises of public schools was not descriminatory, does not violate sections 38 and 42 of the 1999 Constitution as calimed by the plaintiffs.

Meanwhile, the judge reminded them that Section 10 of the Constitution made Nigeria a secular state and that government must maintain neutrality at all times.

She noted that since the public schools were being funded by the government, it was therefore competent to issue dress codes and other guidelines to the students.

Thank You!!! Mark Zuckerberg & Priscilla Chan joined forces to fight Ebola with $25m (N4bn)

No doubt, this family has really done well in the movement against Ebola before it spreads further beyond control.

He mentioned this on his Facebook page that he and his wife are donating $25m to the Centres for Disease Control Foundation to help fight Ebola.

Mark contend that we need to get Ebola under control as soon as humanly possible before it become a long term global health issue like HIV or polio.

My suggestion; more of corporate and social services/donations would go a long way to wage war against Ebola.

Kudos!!! A right activist asks court to stop N65 ATM charges in Nigeria.

Timi Frank, through his lawyer, lawyer Olugbenga Adeyemi, has beseeched the Federal High Court in Abuja to restrain the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) from going futher in its reintroduced N65 charges on cash withdrawals via ATMs in the country.

Godwin Emefiele, CBN governor had ordered that any customer who makes cash withdrawals from ATM of other banks should be charged N65 at the fourth withdrawal in a month. He made the statement on 13th August, 2014 while the policy took effect nationwide on 1st September, 2014.

Olugbenga filed a suit on 18th September, 2014; he made it clear that the reintroduction of ATM charges is a negation of the cashless policy, discriminatory against the poor, it discourages low income earners from savings and no customer is charged any fee in a country like United Kingdom for using the ATM of other banks.

My questions:
  1. How did commercial banks survived the past months without charges on ATM withdrawals?
  2. Should ATM be used as source of revenue?
